Audrey Justine Tautou is a French actress and model who rose to international fame through her role as the shy and eccentric waitress from the romantic comedy Amelie that won her numerous prizes and awards. Tautou was often compared to Audrey Hepburn, due to the mix of attractiveness, charismatic acting and her talent. Though she was born into an educated family Her dark-haired parents were dentists as well as teachers. The acting profession was not the first thing she expected to do. It was at school that she was bitten by the acting bug and made the decision to become a full-time actor. She attended the Cours-Florent acting academy and was offered her first acting role in the television film Coeur de cible. Venus Beauty Institute was her debut feature film for which she was given high marks. She is known for her willingness to play a range of roles. From romantic comedies like Amelie up to the action thriller Dirty Pretty Things. Her French heritage allowed her to be a part of many French films, before it was time to make her Hollywood debut alongside Tom Hanks.
